Professional Accountant (SA) – Port Alfred

BVSA is seeking a motivated Professional Accountant (SA) to join our Port Alfred team.

This position is suitable for a recently qualified professional or someone with limited post-articles experience. The successful candidate will work under an experienced supervisor while taking responsibility for client work, deadlines and the guidance of junior employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting annual financial statements
• Managing multiple client assignments and deadlines
• Preparing management accounts and reconciliations
• Reviewing accounting records and junior employees’ work
• Submitting income tax, VAT and PAYE returns
• Communicating professionally with clients

Minimum Requirements

• Current Professional Accountant (SA) designation and SAIPA registration
• Relevant accounting qualification
• Strong financial-statement drafting skills
• Knowledge of tax, VAT, PAYE and SARS eFiling
• Good planning, communication and leadership abilities
• Attention to detail and willingness to take guidance

Experience with GreatSoft, Sage Accounting, Xero, Draftworx and SimplePay will be advantageous.
